Welcome Message
From Executive Committee Co-Charipersons
Building on a foundation of technical excellence established by the inaugural event held in 2005, we invite you to attend the 2007 International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) scheduled 4–6 December 2007 in Dubai, UAE. IPTC is sponsored by four prominent industry societies — American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers (EAGE), Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), and Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) — and brings together the perspectives of multiple disciplines including petroleum engineering, geology, and geophysics.
Themed “A Changing World: Interdependence, Innovation and Implementation”, IPTC is designed to meet the needs of everyday business and technological challenges. The technical programme features more than 300 presentations focusing on exploration, production, reservoir, midstream gas, and over-arching industry issues. In addition, the IPTC programme showcases a series of panel sessions addressing issues associated with E&P strategies; health, safety, security, and environmental excellence; responses to constraints; and global responsibility to people in the industry.
Continuing its commitment to quality, IPTC recognises the accomplishments of companies, organisations, and educational institutions that have achieved excellence in managing and directing an integrated oil or gas project from discovery to delivery with the Excellence in Project Integration Award. It is through this awards programme that innovation and collaboration are celebrated. We invite you to submit your application for this special recognition by your peers.
Additional on-site special events bring you unmatched opportunities to learn from regional ministers and international executives while networking with industry professionals from around the world.
Please circulate this information to your colleagues, and make plans to join us at the 2007 International Petroleum Technology Conference. We look forward to seeing you in Dubai.

Welcome Message
From Conference Programme Co-Chairpersons
On behalf of the Programme Committee, it is our pleasure to invite you to the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC), scheduled 4–6 December 2007, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, in Dubai, UAE. IPTC is a remarkable three-day technical conference that promises to provide an arena for technological knowledge exchange while creating unmatched learning opportunities for all attendees.
Combining the strengths of four leading industry societies—American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers (EAGE), Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), and Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) – IPTC offers an opportunity to establish relationships and contacts with in-region oil and gas providers, regional energy ministers and international executives who can shape your business decisions far into the future. This year’s conference theme is “A Changing World – Interdependence, Innovation and Implementation”.
In addition to a thriving venue, IPTC offers a multi-disciplinary technical programme featuring more than 50 technical sessions, a keynote session addressing energy issues for a changing world, a special session focusing on climate change, and a series of panel sessions featuring leading industry experts. With more than 300 presentations, which include issues that challenge industry professionals in exploration, production, reservoir, midstream gas, and over-arching issues on HSSE and people, this event is designed to meet the needs of everyday business and technological challenges.
Once again, the programme includes the IPTC Awards for “Excellence in Project Integration”, which will be presented to recognise project teams that have made significant and unique achievements in managing and directing an integrated oil or gas project from discovery to delivery. Award nomination information is included on page 17 of this brochure, and we look forward to receiving your nomination.
IPTC promises to provide an opportunity to integrate, synergise and work together towards a bright future for our industry. Your participation in this conference will enrich the technical programme and strengthen your networking affiliations in this active region.
We look forward to seeing you at this exciting conference in Dubai this December.
