Education Week
Sunday, 2 December – Thursday, 6 December
An Education Week will be held in conjunction with the conference, to give final-year undergraduate, geoscience and engineering students from qualified institutions worldwide, a clear insight into the industry that they are about to join; to allow them to return to their universities and colleges with a positive story to relate to their fellow students; and to provide opportunities for students to form new friendships and to work together on joint activities. At the same time, the students will be interacting with a number of major industry employers who are constantly looking to recruit the best talent from institutions across the region.
Spouse Welcome Coffee
A spouse welcome coffee programme will be held at 1000 hours on Tuesday, 4 December. A representative from the tour organising company will be present to provide information on the tours available that week.
Luncheons
Daily buffet lunches are scheduled 1230-1400 hours in Exhibition Hall 8. Luncheon tickets are included in full conference registration. Additional lunch tickets can be purchased on-site at USD50 per ticket.
Awards Banquet
Tuesday, 4 December - 1930-2230 hours
Awards for “Excellence in Project Integration” will be presented to recognise project teams that have made significant and unique achievements in managing and directing an integrated oil or gas project from discovery to delivery. This special evening will include cultural entertainment provided by the Kuwaiti Television Band, consisting of 25 musicians and dancers. The winning projects will be presented during the Integrated Project Management session, scheduled 1600-1730 hours on Wednesday, 5 December 2007.
Social Events
Conference delegates will have the opportunity to browse technical posters and to learn more about industry technology and get acquainted with others in the industry while enjoying beverages and canapés, during the Poster Session Reception, scheduled 1530‑1730 hours on Wednesday, 5 December 2007. Pre-conference field trips and tours are also planned.
City and Sight-Seeing Tours
Several city and sight-seeing tours organised by Arabian Adventures, will be available for conference participants, accompanying persons and visitors, during the conference. Please visit the IPTC Tour Desk at the Dubai World Trade Centre concourse area during the conference, for more information and to register for the tours.
