IPTC Education Week

The International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) is hosting an Education Week in Kuala Lumpur in December 2008, for the benefit of the best, final-year undergraduate students in science, geoscience and engineering from qualified institutions. The purpose of the IPTC Education Week is to give the students a clear insight into the petroleum industry, to work together on a group project and to provide opportunities for students to form new friendships and extend their network. At the same time, the students will be interacting with a number of major industry employers who are constantly looking to recruit the best talent from institutions across the region.

249 student nominations were received from 73 institutions in 32 countries, 100 of the best students have been selected from 55 institutions in 29 countries to participate in the Education Week.

1 December Welcome Reception and Dinner
2 December Presentations by Industry Executives and Young Professionals; Education Week Project Group Assignments Begin
3 December Attend the Conference Technical Sessions and Exhibition, and IPTC Awards Presentation Ceremony, visits to the Environment Pavilion, a Session with the Education Week Sponsors, and Group Project assignments continue.
4 December Field trip to the PETRONAS Visualisation Centre, PetroSains and the Schlumberger Regional Lab, attend the Poster Session, and Group Project assignments continue
5 December Presentation and Judging of the Group Projects, Presentation of the prizes
