The eighteenth edition of the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC), hosted by PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), will take place from 24–26 March 2027 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The oil, gas, and broader energy industry is entering a dynamic era where balancing security, affordability, accessibility, and sustainability is both a critical challenge and an opportunity to drive global progress. Rising demand, evolving regulations, and shifting stakeholder expectations are accelerating innovation and strengthening collaboration across the energy system.
A secure energy future depends on resilience across the value chain. Smarter solutions—powered by digitalisation and AI—are optimising operations and reducing emissions. Above all, progress together underscores the importance of partnerships across industry, government, and society to align investments and innovation pathways.
Under the theme “Balancing the Energy Future: Secure. Smarter. Together.”, IPTC 2027 will convene industry leaders, policymakers, technologists, and academics to address today’s interconnected energy challenges. The conference will showcase advancements across upstream operations—from exploration geoscience and reservoir engineering to drilling automation, enhanced recovery, and digital integration—while covering a full spectrum of disciplines, including geology, geophysics, petroleum engineering, drilling, and production. It will also explore how collaboration and emerging technologies, such as AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics, are reshaping business models and operational strategies, driving a more resilient and sustainable energy future.
A joint initiative of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE), the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), IPTC represents a unique collaboration that brings together global expertise to share cutting edge research, operational insights, emerging technologies, and best practices across the upstream sector and the wider energy value chain.
We invite you to submit paper proposals showcasing innovative approaches, practical solutions, and real-world applications aligned with the conference theme. Be part of the global exchange shaping the future of energy and contribute to the conversation at IPTC 2027.
Submit your paper proposals online at https://www.iptcnet.org/call-for-papers. The submission deadline is 5 June 2026.
Thank you in advance for your participation and valued contribution. We look forward to welcoming you to Bangkok in 2027.
Sincerely,
