Sanjeev Rajput

Sanjeev Rajput is a distinguished leader with over 24 years of transformative experience in the oil and gas sector, delivering innovative solutions that have reshaped the industry across more than 20 countries. Currently serving as Custodian and General Manager of Reservoir Geoscience at PETRONAS, and Vice President of EAGE for 2024-2025, Sanjeev’s expertise lies in pioneering advancements that optimize subsurface processes and enhance workflow efficiency by up to 50%.

With a Ph.D. and PDF in Applied Geophysics, coupled with a Senior Executive MBA from Melbourne Business School and certifications as a Stanford Certified Project Manager and Lean Six Sigma, Sanjeev has led groundbreaking initiatives, including the creation of the world’s first digital oilfield concept. His leadership in building diverse, high-performing teams, Business Capabilities and Digital Innovation, mentoring emerging leaders, and fostering a culture of innovation has set new industry standards. His Reservoir Futurist Program, for example, has significantly contributed to numerous Final Investment Decisions and job creation.

Sanjeev is also a prolific author, having co-authored groundbreaking textbooks such as "Exploration of Gas Hydrates: Geophysical Techniques" and "Geological Controls for Gas Hydrates and Unconventionals," which are utilized in prestigious institutions like MIT, Stanford, IIT, UWA, and Imperial College London. In addition to his books, Sanjeev has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and delivered presentations at major conferences worldwide, establishing himself as a thought leader in the energy sector.
